¹⁸ Their offer pleased Hamor and Hamor’s son Shechem. ¹⁹ The young man did not delay acting on it, because he was delighted with Jacob’s daughter, and he was the most important^[a] of all the household of his father. ²⁰ Hamor and his son Shechem came to the gate of their city and discussed this with the men of their city.
